About Me - experience, expertise and top 5 facts!

I’m Kelly, and I’m a freelance Operations Manager and Virtual Assistant. I have an extensive background in van hire and franchisee management, as well as small business launch, support and growth. 

With over 15 years of experience as an Ops Manager for a nationwide car and van rental company in the UK, I played a pivotal role in launching, training, and supervising over 100 franchisees. This extensive experience provided me with a deep understanding of the challenges small business owners face and how to overcome them, or better yet, utilise them as advantages. As a Virtual Assistant, or Operations Manager, I help small business owners and coaches manage the back end of their businesses with patience and professionalism.

I have a mature and direct approach, with a great sense of humour. While I can offer traditional VA services through my associates, my real value lies in analysing processes and goals and understanding the “how and why” for my clients. My experience in operations and working with numerous small businesses allows me to see the bigger picture while also staying focused on the path to success.

So, about those five facts about me:

  1. My favourite film is Jurassic Park (the original)
  2. I lived and studied in Moscow and Montpellier, France, so know the cities well (as of 30 years ago!)
  3. I love cats – Dogs are great, too, but cats are my go-to animals
  4. I am from Dorset; trust me, you’ll hear it if we talk and I say a word with an “R” in it!
  5. I love to listen to audiobooks, and my all-time favourite is “The Stand” by Stephen King.  It’s long but so worth it!

Throughout my career, I have managed on-site and remote teams, adapting to various working environments and team dynamics. I recognise that while most business owners share a common goal of wanting more time to spend on their business rather than in it, each individual has unique needs and preferences.

Being a bit of a nerd, I specialise in automation and process streamlining. I work with a lot of coaches, who need to spend time with their clients, not sending emails, updating payment links and website data.

My Team

I work with a few trusted Associate VAs who handle certain tasks, but always with the client’s prior consent. Each Associate signs a contract with me, along with an NDA and a Data Processing contract on behalf of each client (where applicable) and has their own insurance, just like me. 

Some team members offer services that differ to my core skill set, so I let them handle their own specialities, but again, not without confirming that the client is happy to proceed on that basis.
